The restoration

This restoration has been a labour of love. On returning from two years in New Zealand in 2008, we found a huge hole had appeared in one of the lower ground floor walls. Determined to rescue the building, our restoration project began.

The roots of the tree you can see here, would eventually damage the basement wall and trigger the restoration.

First stages of the restoration begin in 2008 – securing the tops of the walls and replacing the roof.
