We are happy to share a trip around our exotic home garden with you and you are welcome to join Grainne in pond-side yoga sessions, by arrangement.
Supermarkets. There is a good size supermarket 5 minutes away by car in Salviac where you can buy most of what you need. Several larger supermarkets are to be found in Gourdon, 15 minutes away by car.
This house is ideal for couples or friends wanting a relaxing holiday in stylish accommodation in a region of France known for its gastronomic delights, great walking and cycling and water based activities.
Door heights. As this is an old building, the doors do not meet modern standard dimensions and two of them are quite low. Mind your head when entering and exiting via the door leading onto the terrace and the front door.
Fosse Septique. Like many rural French houses, we have a “purification station” instead of mains drainage. It relies on a system of pumps so it is essential that only toilet paper is put down the toilet, and no sanitary products, wet wipes etc.
The spiral staircase. This runs through all three floors. While the lower bedrooms can easily be accessed from outside for moving heavy luggage in and out, the top/attic bedroom can only be accessed by the narrow spiral stairs, so soft bags are easier than hard cases up here. We are happy to help out by getting your bags up there if you like. Unfortunately the property is therefore not suitable for people with restricted mobility or for those with young children, as the stairs cannot be closed off.
Immediate local area. The house is situated in a hamlet with residents who live there all year. We would like to maintain good relations with them so consideration for neighbours in terms of noise levels and parking would be much appreciated. Thank you!
